Baxter Johnson Family Cemetery (Fort Pickett)
Fort Pickett (on base, access restricted, GPS not permitted)
Blackstone
Nottoway County
Virginia  USA

Cemetery notes and/or description:
"This family cemetery was located east of Pine Road and south of Gettysburg Road (Training Area 47) in what was Tract J-207 owned by Baxter J. Johnson et al. in 1944
(see Table 1 and Figure 1). It is marked as "relocated" on the 1944 map and not included on Godburn's list of cemeteries relocated to Butterwood (Godburn 1977: Appendix G). Although no "Johnson" cemetery was specifically noted in the relocation information on the metal markers at Gills Bridge Road Cemetery (see Table 5), it is quite possible that these graves may have been relocated there as there are several individuals named Johnson buried at Gills Bridge (see Gills Bridge Cemetery). The location of this cemetery had not been verified at the time of this survey."
