Austin Family Cemetery (Fort Pickett)
Fort Pickett (on base, access restricted, GPS not permitted)
Blackstone
Nottoway County
Virginia  USA

Cemetery notes and/or description:
This family cemetery was located in the vicinity of West Entrance Road to the west of Military Road within the cantonment area of Fort Pickett in what was Tract B-62 owned by Julian Austin et al. in 1944 (see Table 1 and Figure 1). It is marked as "relocated" on the 1944 map but not included on Godburn's list of cemeteries relocated to Butterwood Church (Godburn 1977: Appendix G). The information on the metal markers at Gills Bridge identified the relocation of at least 1 individual, Ma...o Austin, Jr., from this cemetery to Gills Bridge (see Table 5). The exact location of this former cemetery had not been identified at the time of this survey."
