|Cemetery notes and/or description:|
Cemetery is located on the WEST side of the railroad tracks. Access is from Vale Road, (Note: that it is called Vail Road from the Bethel End and Vale Road in Brookfield.) down a step embankment across the Railroad tracks to a small peninsula of land. Although overgrown in the spring and summer is can be easily found in the winter months. Only the remnants remains of markers survive. Excavation right up to the North edge of this this cemetery was carried out in the mid to late 1970s.
This is probably the third oldest burying ground in Brookfield. It was established for the convenience of the Danbury portion of the Parish of Newbury.
See Annals of Brookfield by Emily C Hawley, 1929, pages 238-9 for a full description.
