Ten Mile Grove Cemetery is located in the western part of Patton Township, Section 14 (24N-R9E) about 2 1/2 miles west of the City of Paxton.
Ten Mile Grove was a stopping place for travelers traversing the Ottawa Road, the main line of travel from Danville to Ottawa. The nearest settlement was at Sugar Grove in the far southeastern corner of Button Township, a distance of ten miles, hence the name of Ten Mile Grove Settlement.
In accordance to the grave markers, this small cememtery was established as early as 1852. This small burial plot is shaded by a clump of oak trees.
