|Cemetery notes and/or description:|
The "Barnes-Choate" cemetery is a family plot located on the old William Oliver and Alice Gray Owens Barnes homestead. The location, not precisely determined but under investigation, is believed to be south of the Hynson Springs Road, across from the W.O. Barnes family homeplace, on a portion of the land formerly owned by Ruth Barnes Mings.
Although there are presumably others, the only person definitively known to rest there is Clarissa Jane Sockwell Porter Owens Choate, the mother of John Walker Porter, Alice Gray Owens Barnes and Oscar Orba Owens.
