|Cemetery notes and/or description:|
St Peter and St Paul is a fine medieval church, about a mile south of Boughton Street, with lovely views of countryside. 'Under-Blean' in the name refers to the former ancient Forest of Blean, long dwindled to almost nothing. The church registers began in 1558. One of the church's finest features is the monument inside to Sir Thomas Hawkins (d.1612), accompanied by his seven sons and six daughters as 'weepers'. The cemetery is large and rambling, with some very old graves around the church at the top of the hill, 19th and 20th century interments lower down to the south east, and a modern extension, with garden of remembrance, to the south.
