|Cemetery notes and/or description:|
According to William's HISTORY OF WASHINGTON CO. OHIO, it was the second church organized in Elk township and dates from the vicinity of 1840. It was organized by Nathan Miller, Daniel Hendershot, Levi Woods, Daniel Michael, Daniel McPeek, John Miller, Hammond Miller, John Walters and their wives. About 1850 Daniel Michael gave some land and a building was constructed for the church by John Walters and John Powell. On two different occasions, the church and congregation moved to Dalzell in Washington Co. and the bell from Walters Christian Church wich was spposed to have a particularly lovely sound is now in the church at Dalzell. In 1848 or 1849 the first burial there was a little child of Daniel McPeek.
