|Prince William County|
|Cemetery notes and/or description:|
Dettingen Parish is the historic Episcopal Parish for Prince William County, VA. The "Dettingen Episcopal Church" no longer exists. The Parish Church for Dettingen has been Trinity Episcopal (in Manassas, VA) for more than 135 years. From 1845 until the 1870's it was St. James Episcopal (now Hatcher Memorial Baptist) Church in Brentsville, VA. The parish cemetery for the historic Dettingen Parish Church is now the Town of Dumfries Public Cemetery. The Dumfries Public Cemetery has an historical marker which references the Quantico Chapel and Overwharton Parish. These are the 17th and early 18th century predecessors of Dettingen Parish.
