Booneville Cemetery Also known as: Booneville UMC Cemetery | | HWY 71 Cheneyville Rapides Parish Louisiana USA

Cemetery notes and/or description: Directions: Take US Hwy. 71 south from Alexandria toward Cheneyville. The Booneville Cemetery is located on the left side between the highway and Bayou Beouf, approximately 5.2 miles past the signal light in Cheneyville. In front of the small white-frame church is a large sign:
"Wesley United Methodist Church, Rev. Emmett Collins, Pastor Serving God's Children since 1869"
This African-American cemetery is called Booneville because that was the name of the community where it was located. The Church is on the left of the cemetery and no graves are behind the church building. There were too many vaults or slabs with no inscriptions or identification, to be listed. There were approximately 93 vaults that were unmarked; 34 unmarked slabs, and 15 unreadable stones. There were also many exact depressions that signify burials, with no way to identify the burials. Those appear to be in the oldest section here. By Jane P. McManus 2001
