Evening Shade (Sharp County)
|Cemetery notes and/or description:|
Boles Cemetery is located about 3.3 miles west of the well in Evening Shade, AR on property once owned by Jesse Masters. There are two turns before reaching the cemetery. The road turns south in Evening Shade. Take the first right and follow to the Izard County line. The cemetery is in a pasture on the right and difficult to see from the road. Large trees are in the cemetery, and it is unfenced. Most of the stones have been knocked down by livestock or equipment. A record of all the stones that could be found was made during a 1971 and 1988 visit. Joseph Boles lived on the property in 1870, and I assume the cemetery is named for him.
KNOWN GRAVES. There are many unmarked graves.
