Cemetery notes and/or description:
To find this cemetery, take 32 south from Gansevoort and turn right on Brownville Road. Go about 1/2 mile to the plaque and it is about 300 yds. in the wood on your right. The cemetery is overgrown and uncared for. A list of about 140 burials can also be found in the Saratoga NYGENWEB site. Land for the cemetery was donatred by Martin Vanderwerker son of Martinus and Margarita Owens Vanderwerker in 1818. Burials range from 1818 to 1916. The blue and yellow plaque pictured at right is now missing. Hopefully it can be replaced. |
