This was the second oldest Mennonite meeting house in Canada, constructed circa 1810, and served as the religious and cultural centre of the community for many years. The original meeting house was destroyed by fire and was replaced in 1870 by the present structure, located one mile north of this site. Erected by the Rainham Mennonite Congregation on its 200th anniversary, the North Erie Shore Historical Society, and the I.O.O.F. Lodge, Selkirk. Sep 26, 1993.”
