Cemetery notes and/or description:
This family cemetery is located between Laran and Truxno in Union Parish. Many of the original markers are gone with only a few stone markers left. It is a family cemetery belonging to the Murry family that settled Union Parish in 1849.
Thanks goes to John Bennett for helping me locate this cemetery. He is related to the Murrys and grew up in Conway, LA which is just down the road.
Here is info that he provided: This cemetery is right beside an old "log" road. It is overgrown and obviously not kept up. It is difficult to see even when right on it. An old fence encloses the place which is about 30 or 40 feet square. There could be more fallen down markers under the brush and leaves and dirt. In one place there was a mound of dirt that seemed to indicate that in the distant past a grave may have been dug up and the remains possibly moved somewhere else. (June 2006)
