|Cemetery notes and/or description:|
This cemetery is one of the oldest in Grayson county. It lies just north of Highway 697. Approximatly, 2 miles north of old Kentucky Town. Originally, the Pitman's Chapel, a Methodist Church, and the Batsell School stood nearby. This property lies at the junction of Spring Branch and Camp Branch of Mill Creek. The creek is where a church camp would often take place and baptisms often held. It was named for Michael Pitman (he gave the land to the church and cemetery). Later, it was called Batsell Methodist Church. Today, it is being approached by a tract of new houses and is in need of protection.
