|Cemetery notes and/or description:|
The Ross-Rude Cemetery is in the Craft, Cherokee County, Texas Community. My great-great-great-great grandmother Catherine Isaacks, married William Ross, then Benson, and last Rude. She donated the land for the cemetery. It was part of a land grant given to William Ross by The Republic of Texas. Catherine's mother Sarah Glass Isaacks, son George, two daughter-in-laws and a granddaughter are buried there that we know of as well as others from the community. To get there take Hwy. 69 out of Jacksonville. Turn right on FM 1616 and go 0.2 mile. At the T in the road turn right and go about 0.7 mile. The cemetery is on the left, enclosed within a chainlink fence. (text by W. Westfall)
