Cemetery notes and/or description:
The Ross-Rude Cemetery is in the Craft, Cherokee County, Texas Community. My great-great-great-great grandmother Catherine Isaacks, married William Ross, then Benson, and last Rude. She donated the land for the cemetery. It was part of a land grant given to William Ross by The Republic of Texas. Catherine's mother Sarah Glass Isaacks, son George, two daughter-in-laws and a granddaughter are buried there that we know of as well as others from the community. To get there take Hwy. 69 out of Jacksonville. Turn right on FM 1616 and go 0.2 mile. At the T in the road turn right and go about 0.7 mile. The cemetery is on the left, enclosed within a chainlink fence. (text by W. Westfall)

Rude Cemetery (or Ross-Rude Cemetery)near the community of Craft, is a small country cemetery located on the south side of County Road 1616 which connects U.S. Highway 69 and Farm to Market Road 347, just south of the loop on the south side of Jacksonville, Texas. It is bordered on 3 sides by pasture and woods but is easily accessed from the road. It is surrounded by a chain link fence. The oldest marked burial is that of E.D. Ross, wife of G.W. Ross Jul-14-1867.
