|Cemetery notes and/or description:|
The Jinings family settled before 1840 in McLean County, Illinois, on land that became Woodford County when that county was created in 1841. The family was from Overton County, Tennessee. They connect to William McCord line that was in Woodford County, and also the Hayes lines of Warren, Asahel and Abiel. Jinings Cemetery was located first in 1975. The location is at 4-H Road & 1900 E Road, Eureka, Woodford County, IL. The cemetery is on the Grusy Farm, located east of Eureka.
There used to be a church, "Church of Christ", nearby and old-timers' believe that when the church became too small it was moved. The Church was located at one time on neighboring farm of Mr. Groves. A school was also located nearby from a old drawing that was included with the Grusy abstract ca 1900.
