"Deacon Thornton House. This 1 1/2-story, wood-frame farm house sets on the east side of Hopkins Avenue. It possibly dates from the mid-eighteenth century. The family cemetery 200 yards northeast contains markers for the family of Abel Thornton, for whom the house
is apparently named.
