|Cemetery notes and/or description:|
The Trout Burying Ground (aka Cedar Hill Cemetery) is on a high, broad ridge overgrown with low brush, and can be somewhat difficult to find. Always seek permission before entering upon the private farmlands. The farm entrance is located 1/10 mile (640 feet) west of the Belmont one-room school house on SR 741 (Strasburg Road) at the intersection with Belmont Road. From the farm barn complex, proceed nearly due south up the slope to the top edge of the fields along the tree line, turn right, proceed west 1/10 mile to the highest point on the trail (N39 58.747'; W076 06.155', NAD27). Turn nearly due south onto a sketchy logging trail, and then following the meanders, always bearing to the left, proceed 306 feet to a very small clearing. The marked entrance to the Trout Burying Ground is to the right. Follow the foot trail for 55 feet as it loops to the left, ending at the west edge of this very small family burying ground. In exact terms, the gravestones are located at N39 58.729', W076 06.102', USGS 7.5' Gap, PA quad (NAD27).
