Approximately 40 yrs ago printed in Macon Co. W/VA Cemetery inscriptions:
RT 62 north to Homer Smith farm. Opposite Potter Creek Rd. A Sand and Gravel sign; go out a dirt rd to the home of a Mt. Chattin. Behind it remains a cattle pen. At one time a large orchard was there. There were many stones when the late Mrs Charlotte Steenbergen was writing her "McCulloch" in 1962. We went with Mrs Evert (Mae Chattin)Sayre to see headstone remains as she remembered seeing them stacked beside the fence. The land ws owned by "Pioneer John McCulloch, then the Swon Family, then the late Lycurgus Knight. The ground was frequently flooded, and some graves were removed.
