Departement de la Manche
|Cemetery notes and/or description:|
This cemetery no longer exists. It was one of dozens of temporary cemeteries established during World War II by the U.S. Army's Quartermaster Corps' Graves Registration Service. After the war, all interments were cleared and either repatriated to the U.S. for disposition according to family wishes, or re-interred in one of the American Battle Monuments Commission cemeteries in Europe, usually closest to where the soldier, sailor, or airman died. Most of the casualties interred here would have been moved to the Normandy American Cemetery and Memorial overlooking Omaha Beach.
