|Cemetery notes and/or description:|
This pioneer cemetery is located on the north side of the parking lot of St. Ann's Nursing Home, which is the only access route to the burial ground. During extension work to the lot in the 1950's, part of the cemetery was accidentally destroyed and many of the stones bulldozed into the adjoining creek. In the 1980's, advocates collected the remains of the stones and re-erected the complete markers. Hundreds of pieces of partial stones have been assembled in partially readable ground areas. Local veterans groups have researched, located and marked the original burial sites of soldiers from the Revolutionary, 1812, Black Hawk and Civil Wars interred within its grounds, in some cases matching the original stones to the burial sites and replacing them.
