|Cemetery notes and/or description:|
Thomas Cemetery is on private land; you should get permission from the land owners before entering the property. To get to the cemetery, drive north from Rock Bluff for about 1-1/2 miles on Liberty County Road 270 to the intersection of Rockyville Road. Next to the run-down Galilee Church on the east side of Highway 270 is a logging road that enters the woods. The access has a gate which is chained but not locked and a “No trespassing” sign is posted. The gate and sign were not placed by the landowners, but probably by the logging company that had removed timber from the area.
Follow the road through the woods for about 1500 ft. The road will then make a hard left turn then a right turn. Do not follow the right turn but continue straight along a trail road for about 500 ft. (You can see a deer stand to your left along the way.)
The cemetery will be in the hardwood trees to the right of the road. You should sight the headstones shortly after you walk into the woods.
