Cemetery notes and/or description: Bosco Baptist Church Cemetery is located in Ouachita Parish on Blankston Rd., just off Hwy. 165, at Bosco, near the Caldwell Parish line.
The cemetery was established in 1943 with the first burial of Mrs. Violet B. (Spillers) Hooter, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Victor "Buck" Spillers and first wife of Will Faulk Hooter. Mr. Oscar Hooter, Violet's father-in-law, suggested it be named Violet Cemetery. It is located across the road from Bosco Baptist Church on land donated for the cemetery by Mr. and Mrs. Franklin of Bosco. The cemetery is well organized and maintained.
The neighborhood men built Bosco Baptist Church (2nd sanctuary) and helped to dig the first grave in Bosco Baptist Church Cemetery, both in the early 1940's. The first sanctuary was in the old one room Bosco School House facing Pipes Lane. It closed when Logtown School opened at Fondale in 1929. Four years later, it became Bosco Baptist Church. Our present church (3d sanctuary) was built in 2009.
If you have an obituary or added information for anyone in this cemetery, please send it to HappeeNotes@aol.com and it will be added. If you have photos of anyone, please post them or send them to this email.
Thank you,
