Directions: Taylor cemetery is located approximately 1 mile East of Spaulding on north side of Telstar Road, Southeast 1/4 of the Northwest 1/4 of Section 2 (northeast of Riverton).
History: On July 6, 1863 James S. Taylor and Sally Taylor deeded a tract of land "for the purpose of a burying ground, containing one-half acre". They conveyed it out "except the right in common to bury within said premises the dead of our own family, and the family of relatives, which are the benefits as above alluded to as accuring to the said party of the first part". The signatures were witnessed by John Wilson and Sally Taylor signed with her mark, an "X". The deed was recorded 16 Feb 1888, Book 80, page 397 (Sangamon County Courthouse, Springfield, Illinois). This was approximately 25 years after it was signed.
Again on 29 January 1891 Sarah Taylor, Maggie Jones, William A. Jones and Bertrand H. Jones deeded by Quit Claim an addition to the one-half acre by adding some on the south and some on the east, making Taylor a total plat of 196.58' x 286.65'.
