|Cemetery notes and/or description:|
The cemetery of the "Old" Pleasant Grove Church is also known as Frame Church Cemetery and Sugar Grove Cemetery. The first Methodist Episcopal Society of this territory was organized in 1848 in John Dopps log cabin, he was known as "Uncle" John Dopps. "Uncle" John Dopps lived on the William Walker place in a large hewed log house, this is the place where all went to church. In 1869 the original Pleasant Grove Church was erected. William Walker who owned considerable land in the vicinity gave the land for the church and the cemetery. The church was torn down in 1914 and the present Pleasant Grove Church was dedicated May 3, 1914. The cemetery is enclosed by an iron fence, no new burials have been made in this cemetery for many, many years.
