|Cemetery notes and/or description:|
The Paddock-Flagg Cemetery is located about 7 miles north of Edwardsville, Madison, Illinois to the east side of highway 159. It was started as a family burying ground in the 1820's by the Paddock & Flagg familes. It was deeded over to Madison County in 1866 and is managed by decendants of both the Paddock & Flagg families. The plot contains an area of 2 acres of which only 1/2 acre has been used and fenced by Gaius Orville Paddock, who was the President of Paddock-Hawley Iron Co. in St. Louis, Missouri. The remaining area of 1 3/4 acres is under cultivation.
