|Cemetery notes and/or description:|
Andover Township Cemetery is located on the south edge of the town of Andover, Illinois.
It was originally founded in the 1860’s consisting of two adjoining cemeteries: the Andover Lutheran cemetery and the Andover Methodist cemetery, with the Methodist cemetery directly to the east of the Lutheran cemetery. Each of the cemeteries were maintained by their respective churches.
In 1963, the ownership of both those cemeteries was transferred to Andover Township and was named the Andover Township Cemetery (aka – Andover Cemetery)
In 1972, a new main section was annexed on to the Lutheran and Methodist sections. It is directly to the east of those two sections.
