|Cemetery notes and/or description:|
In 1872, John and Anna Sautter buried their son, Herman, in a corner of their family farm. Two other children were buried there within the next few years. In the early 1880's the Sautters allowed members of their church, the German Lutheran Church, to bury family members in the Sautter's family cemetery. In 1884 the Sautters decided to give the cemetery to the church. The deed for the Sautter Cemetery was signed 4 Dec 1884.
Some time between 1923 and 1946 the name of the Sautter Cemetery was changed to Papillion Cemetery. The cemetery retains close ties with the First Lutheran Church in Papillion.
Papillion Cemetery is located on the southeast corner of 84th and Giles Road, about 1.5 miles north of downtown Papillion.
