Louis (Ludewig) immigrated with his parents Friederich August Oltmanns (Feb 7, 1815 Oldenburg Germany - Oct 25, 1890) Cleveland, Ohio) and Friederika Ludowike Driesel (Jan 28, 1822 Germany - Oct 24, 1885 Cleveland, Ohio) and four siblings Fred, Henry, Sophia and Louisa to the U.S. in June 1868. His other siblings Friederike, Maria, Carl and William had preceeded them to the U.S. by about a year. Louis became a naturalized citizen on Apr 4, 1874. He married Henrietta Lipstren (Oct 18, 1855 - Aug 9, 1931) on May 27, 1877 in Cleveland, Ohio. They had three children, Louis Carl (Feb 3, 1880 - Jan 11, 1956), Rose (Sep 1883 - Nov 24, 1902) and Anna (1879 - Jan 16, 1961). She married George H. Brandes (1874-1957). His son Louis was a cigarmaker in Cleveland and never married.
