Jazz Musician. He began on guitar at age seven, and piano at 11, but later switched to vibraphone. The co-founder of the acclaimed "Modern Jazz Quartet", he took classical music and improvised it adding jazz and pop. He played with many of the jazz greats, including Charlie Parker, Thelonius Monk, John Coltrane, Miles Davis, Woody Herman and Coleman Hawkins.
