In 1910, Henry H. Benjamin and his wife Sarah E. (Hunsaker) Benjamin donated one (1) acre of land to the Amoret Christian Church for the cemetery. The deed was made on 31 May 1910 and recorded at the Bates County Recorder's Office on 11 Nov 1910. The Board of Trustees were D. W. Beall, W. A. Downey and Nelson Allman. The Benjamin Cemetery Association was formed in October of 1937, at which time the Christian Church deeded the cemetery to the cemetery association. Additional land was purchased from Will Snell who owned the property adjoining the cemetery.
In June, 1966, Mr. and Mrs. Bill Dalton donated land west of the cemetery. A gravel road separates this addition, known as Benjamin West, from the original cemetery.

There were burials in the northwest corner of the Benjamin property prior to their donation to the Christian Church. The first two burials in the cemetery were the Benjamins' daughter, Cora Ethel who died in 1902, and their son, James Arthur who died in 1908 (Source: Cemetery Gravestones).
The Benjamin Cemetery Association continues to maintain the cemetery.
