This African/American family cemetery is in the Straightstone quadrant of Campbell Co.. From Rt 696 turn onto /Rt 705/821 Swan Creek Road. At Swan Creek Church turn south onto Old East Ferry Road. Access along this old road is restricted and the road is not maintained. Follow the road .8 miles until just beyond a curve. Park here then walk due south to the crest of a knoll.Continue down the slope south another 100 -150 yds when you will reach the vicinity of the cemetery.This site is approx 200 yds above the bed of the railroad and 300 yds from the bank of the Staunton River. The cemetery is located 200 ft die west of the John Brown Family Cemetery # 207 and is clearly marked on the plat drawn by Fred Kabler in 1940 for the heirs of John E. Hall. Brown Tract in Deed Book 38 page. 286.
No identifiable grave markers were located when visited in 1972 by Revely Carwile. This cemetery is known to contain the burials of the slaves of John Brown, John Brown Jr.
(b.1748-1836) John Brown # 3 (d 1847) and Edmund Brown
(b. 1805 and died after the civil war.
