Calvary cemetery no longer exists. It was located between 14th & 16th Sts. on Garfield Ave. It was a Catholic cemetery run by the Chancery office of Kansas City, MO. The cemetery was badly neglected. The decision was made to remove the bodies to other cemeteries, mostly to Mt. Olivet in St. Joseph, MO., or to a cemetery of the family's choice. The hill where the cemetery set was taken down and to this day nothing has been done to the property. Mt. Olivet has records of the bodies that were moved from Calvary to Mt. Olivet.
The NW MO Genealogy Library ask people who knew of family members buried at Calvary, to notify them and they put together a booklet of burials. This booklet is available at the NW MO Genealogy Library in downtown St. Joseph, MO. They got some of the burials from the "Catholic Tribune." A booklet called "Deaths From The Catholic Tribune" 1905-1910, is available also at the NW MO Genealogy Library in St. Joseph.
