In 2004 with the support of the late Charles Penna Supervisor of the Town of Mamakating Charles and Helene Goetschius formed the Town of Mamakating Cemetery Committee with the intent to clean and maintain the abandon cemeteries in our township. It is still a working project under the former Supervisor Robert Fiore and the present Supervisor Harold Baird.
We would like to thank the Superintendent of the Sullivan Correctional Facility in Woodburn and his Correction Officers and crews for the hard work they have done to help us clean the cemeteries. Without them we would not have been able to obtain this goal. It went from a wild jungle to what it is today.
I will be adding all the listingsin this cemetery and hope everyone will find it helpful in their searches for anscestors.
We are working very closely with the Mamakating Historical Society so if you have any questions please contact me and I will try to help you in your searches.
