His first wife was Rachel Wainscott - Married - 20 December 1819 in Henry County. See attached. In the 1820 Henry County Census Milton Applegate is found with young wife and daughter next to a large Daniel Applegate family. He is next described in father Daniel Applegate's Revolutionary War pension application as John Applegate with 2 young children. It is believed that Rachel died about 1826.
He married Jane Pruitt in 1827 per attached. After John Milton's death she married, (Oct.23,1836), Samuel Reagan.
In the 1830 Census for St Charles Co, Mo, Milton is found with new wife and 2 boys under 10 and one girl about 10 or 11. There is also one girl under 5 who could by new wife or by Rachel if she died during child birth. The older girl has been identified as Lucretia. The younger as Amanda.

Some sources say born Scott Co., KY and others say born Shelby Co., KY.
