Yancey, William E. "Bill" M.D.,

89 years old of Louisville, Kentucky, passed away Thursday, September 22, 2016. Born in Washington Co., KY June 19, 1927, he volunteered for the U.S. Army at age 17 and was later stationed in Berlin as a corporal in the 303rd Combat Engineers. He graduated from the University of Louisville Medical School in 1952. Following an internship at St. Joseph Infirmary, he practiced as a family physician in Louisville for 61 years; he felt blessed with a profession he loved.

He was a member of the Rotary Club, Louisville Medical Society, Audubon Country Club, Christ Church Methodist Church, and the American Academy of Family Practice, serving as president of the local chapter for one year.

He was predeceased by his brothers Wayne and Charlie, and his daughter Marty.

He is survived by his wife Cynthia and her daughter Cindy Conder, children Patrice Lux, Kathy Coulter (Danny), Bill Yancey (Kathy), and Jon Yancey, 12 grandchildren, Stephen, Melissa, Jennifer, Elizabeth, Patrick, Alex, Bill, Danielle, Justin, Ashlyn, Hannah, Emily. And 6 great-grandchildren.

His passions included golf, horse racing, and traveling the world with Cynthia. He dreamed of having a successful racehorse, which he fulfilled.

Funeral services will be 1 PM Tuesday at Christ Church United Methodist , 4614 Brownsboro Road. Visitation 3-8 PM Monday at Pearson's 149 Breckenridge Lane.
