Rites Held for Zoney Yancey; Aged Resident Dies Wednesday, April 16

Funeral services for Mrs. Zoney Elizabeth Yancey, Park Hill, age 74, were conducted Friday at 2 p.m. in the First Methodist church in Tahlequah.

Rev. J.O. Smith of Tahlequah officiated, assisted by Rev. Alonzo Yancey of the First Baptist church of Charleston, Ark.

Burial was in the New Hope cemetery in Stilwell directed by Reed-Culver Funeral Home of Tahlequah.

Mrs. Yancey died early Wednesday morning in the City hospital of a cerebral hemorrhage.

She was united with the New Hope Methodist church at the age of 16 at Stilwell, then Indian Territory.

Survivors are three daughters and two sons, Mrs. Inez Wickett of Tahlequah, Mrs. Clara Carr and Mrs. Lee Carlile and John Yancey of Park Hill; J.L. Yancey of Huntsville, Ark.; one brother, S.D. Johnson of Amarillo, Texas; a sister, Mrs. Sam Patterson of Stilwell and ten grandchildren, Mrs. Nancy Reese and Wanda Wickett of Tahlequah; John Allen, Cecil and Zona Mae Carr and Tommy Carlile of Park Hill; and Mary Lou, Billie John, Geraldine and June Elizabeth Yancey of Huntsville, Ark.

Active pallbearers were Bill Hinton, Ed Carlile, Loy Carr, of Tahlequah and Arthur Patterson, Burl Kelley, John Mathews and Boyd Patterson, all of Stilwell.

Honorary pallbearers were A.C. Justus, Dewey Carlile, Oscar Webb, Homer Gilliland, Philmore and Jack White, all of Tahlequah and Joe Lynch and John Ferguson of Stilwell.
